About the Company

Formed in 2002 by Ian Larnach the company has become one of the leading Supply Chain Consultants in the North East of England. In 2007 Chris Holt joined the company to focus on Sustainability in Construction and Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments.

From early involvement with projects we are able to provide a valuable service to the client and their design teams, working as part of their team to overcome specific product and design performance related issues.

Profile of Ian Larnach

Ian has been involved in the Construction Industry Supply Chain for over 30 years, prior to forming ILA he worked almost entirely in the Builders Merchant sector. After a two year stint as Chairman of the Builders Merchant Federation North East he became involved with the Construction Industry Best Practice Programme and as a result became the first representative from within the Builders Merchant sector to be an active member of the Movement for Innovation (M4i).

Later in the same year he was invited to join the inaugural Board of Constructing Excellence North East and as such headed up the Supply Chain Task Force. Ian retained this position until 2009 and is still an active member of CENE.

Profile on Chris Holt

Since joining Ian in 2007 Chris has become involved in developing the business in line with Sustainability in Construction and the Code for Sustainable Homes.  He is a qualified BRE Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor and is now not only performing Code assessments but he is also working with ILA’s specialist manufacturers to assist them to conform to Code requirements.

Chris comes from a varied background, he has an Environmental degree and is also a qualified Secondary School Science and Maths teacher.  Not the most conventional route into the Construction Industry, but one that allows him to take on large quantities of information, sort out what is relevant, explain it if necessary and to make decisions.
